Exclamation Advice required

After years of waiting we rec`d parent visa and thought house was sold, however sale fell thro ,but we put brave face on and travelled to OZ this year to validate visa and travelled up from Melbourne to Brisbane.
We saw some wonderful places and people.
Now we have had another positive offer on the house and we want to come to OZ, however the son has come back to the UK after 10 years.
My partner says we cannot stay in OZ because the visa was issued on the understanding that our son lived in OZ . Will this be the case even so our son says he will go back to OZ at some time or do we need to look at alternative ways.

You have a visa which has been validated. Therefore you have a valid visa. Check the conditions on the visa grant letter, but I've never heard of the visa only being valid if your son lives in the country.
