Default Advice Please - 'Genuine & Continuing Relationship'

Hello All

can anyone help?

We are in the process of starting the application procedure........i have just seen the evidence required for secondary applicants i.e. spouse........can anyone give us any info or advice on how the evidence should be captured before sending with application........

Is there a prescribed format / declaration or does anyone have an example of what has worked in the past.

All replies genuinely appreciated

Thanks

H + E

Which visa are you looking at? Are you married, how long have you been together, do you have children together, is your house/tenancy in joint names?

Then you have absolutely zilch to worry about
All they are looking for is proof that you really are a couple and not faking your relationship in order to get into the Country - so you have nothing to fear at all. The evidence we sent to prove our relationship was: Bills in both names for proof of address - we got a few together with different dates on to show how long we were together, flights for hols we'd been on together, housing detials, joint bank acct info... All you really need is copy of your marriage cert, birth certs for your kids showing both names, your house deeds and I reckon that would be tons!! For a declaration we just wrote our story we met in blah, got together, moved in together on X date etc then swore it before a solicitor - not sure if thats actually necessary, but we werent taking any chances! Anyhow, I really wouldnt worry you'll be absolutely fine Good luck anyway!

Well, we applied for (and got) a 136 visa, which is in the same "family" as a 176 visa - and provided absolutely zilch except a marriage certificate dated 9 years previously. We got our visa with no further questions asked and we don't even have any children. With a long established relationship and two children, I'd be surprised if you needed to provide anything else. Assuming you still have to list all your trips overseas, that alone will prove you've holidayed together.

You could follow M8M's approach, but I very much doubt if you really need to.

Good luck!!
