Default ACS: Whats the difference between 261311,261312,261313

Hi all,

Could anybody explain whats the difference between these ANZSCO codes (From ACS)

261311 - Analyst programmer
261312 - Developer programmer and
261313 - Software engineer

I'm not sure which category I fall into, I got 4 years experience as "Oracle Applications/Oracle E-Business Suite/Oracle ERP" technical consultant and two masters degrees with maximum no.of Computers related subjects (one is 3 Years from India and another is 2 Years MIT from Australia). I'm an offshore applicant.

Any help highly appreciated.

Thanks/Baazighar

Hi Baazighar

The link http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/migra...NI_Skilled.pdf suggests that Ur skill falls under 261312 Developer Programmer ( Oracle E-Buisness)

Anyway I'm not an Expert. I think at this stage only the NSW state sponsorship people/ DIAC/ ACS are the ones who could verify the info.

Thanks Mate !!!
If I apply for ACS assessment now, will they automatically give that code or do we need to specifically ask for that code.

Thanks/Baazighar

You can request for the code however ACS will change it to a appropriate code if they find yours unsuitable...

Hi,

What evidence do you have that ACS will change the code to a suitable one should the one you apply for not be accepted? As far as I am aware, if you apply for, example code 1234 they will access you against that code based on the information you provide and find you either suitable or unsuitable.
It is up to the applicant to apply for a code that matches closest to their skill set.

Or have you heard that something else?

Thanks

If it is a completely new assessment then you need to prepare the docs accordingly as it is a entirely new process. On the other hand, if you are going for the free review [for the ACS letter issued between May 1st and June 30th] then all you need to do is just fill the appropriate form with the new ANZSCO code you want yourselves to be nominated.

Still not really with you,
you may be able to advise on my situation? I'm 2231-79 (oracle specialist) which is not on either 175 or 176. My assessement is outside of the free review window and therefore I am required to submit a reassessment quoting my previous assessment ref number and fill out a new application form. They do not require a complete set of documents again e.g RPLs certificates CV etc etc unless I wish to add additional evidence to support the code I apply for.
I intend applying for a ICT Business Analysis. Are you telling me that they will carryout an assessment based on that code and if they find mr unsuitable they'll issue me a code to match my skills????? Doubt it
cheers

I believe if you intend to go for ICT Business Analysis and if they find it unsuitable they will give you a code[261399] on the mapping document which is good for nothing. In that case, you need to apply as a new application with appropriate documents. At this point of time nothing is very clear..

Experts kindly advice.

hi, I have a positive assessment - 2231-79 dated march 23, I understand that I need to submit an application paying ful fee. But what about the documentation? do I need to submit along with additional documentation the same set of documents and edcational certificates that I had submitted for my initial assessment.

Thanks

Question Re: ACS: Whats the difference between 261311,261312,261313

Hi

I had been assessed by ACS on 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist). From last 4 years I had been working on JAVA as well. I want to get new assessment under ANZCO 261313 (JAVA).

I am not sure which ACS PASA would be suitable for me.

PASA 1.1
PASA (Professional Members of the ACS)

PASA 1.2
PASA ( Applicants seeking recent work experience exemption)

PASA 1.2.1
PASA 1.2.1 (Applicants seeking recent work experience exemption but wishing to have their professional IT (Computing) experience taken into consideration.

Can any one please guide me?

Thanks

Ahmad

help me out, im really confused. I currently have a positive skills assessment dated April 20, 2010. This was issued with ASCO code 2231-79 (Specialising in Java). Do I need to undergo a re-assessment so that ACS will issue me an ANZSCO code? Or the ASCO code will be considered once I lodged my visa this july? As I have checked, it is mapped to ANZSCO code 261399 in Schedule 4. Is my current skills assessment valid?

Can you tell me what's your understanding of this:

I’ve already obtained my skills assessment in an ASCO occupation but have not lodged an application yet − is my skills assessment still valid?

Yes. If you apply for a GSM visa after 1 July 2010 you can still use your ASCO skills assessment obtained prior to 1 July 2010, provided that your ASCO skills assessment is still valid.
To allow for this, the department has correlated all ASCO occupations currently acceptable for skilled visa program purposes to their acceptable corresponding ANZSCO occupation(s). These correlations will be used to determine whether your valid ASCO skills assessment is an acceptable correlation for your ANZSCO nominated occupation. As the two occupation standards contain several differences, in some cases this may mean that one ASCO occupation correlates to several ANZSCO occupations and, conversely, that one ANZSCO occupation correlates to several ASCO occupations.
