Hello all,
this is my first post and thank you in advance for assistance and replies ...
I have read through ACS docs and guidelines over and over , read FAQ , but I still cannot answer few queries I have...
below my situation:
I am confused which route should I be going RPL or Group B?? … I am happy to take one more MS exam if it means I might avoid RPL which I know is a longer process and risky.. in ACS FAQ they provided a list of recognized vendor certificates for Group B , but they did not mention if it needs to accompany other recognized Australian IT degrees or not !
can anyone please advise ?

I have read through ACS docs and guidelines over and over , read FAQ , but I still cannot answer few queries I have...
below my situation:
- Non-ICT Bachelors degree (in Arts)
- 9 Years of ICT related experience ( Software Developer , Systems Designer , Sr Software Consultant , and now Solution Architect)
- Hold the following certificates:
o MCAD for .NET – 2003
o MCP – 2002
o CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster e-Commerce Professional from Prosoft) – 2001
o ITIL v2 and v3 – 2006/2007
o COBIT v4 - 2008
o PMP - 2009 - Post-graduate
o Advanced IT Diploma - 900 hours Full-time education (conducted by IBM in Egypt). This Diploma is not certified from any University , only from IBM Education Center in Egypt
o IT Scholarship for 6 months on Microsoft .NET Technologies (conducted by a Certified Microsoft Education Center in Egypt) . - Undergraduate:
o IT training courses in programming/Operating System/Office Applications from IBM Education Center in Egypt

I would say, get the MCITP and go for the group B where you have a better chance of getting it because you have enough work experiance..

here is an excerpt from FAQ
------
47. Does the ACS recognise Vendor Certifications for skills Assessment purposes?
Certain vendor certification courses either individually or in combination and supported by substantial relevant experience may be sufficient to meet the ACS Skills Assessment Requirements for Group B.
(Applicants with vendor qualifications MCSE, MCSD, CLP and CNE gained from 1997, and CDE , Master CNE , CNI , CCE , and OCM gained from 2004, and MCPD and MCITP gained from 2007, CISA and CISM gained from June 2007, CISSP from May 2008, MCTS gained from August 2009 ).
------
I am confused what they meant by MCITP "gained from 2007" ?! any thoughts? If I go and obtain my certificate next month , then apply under Group B, will they consider it ? or they would turn me down

Take MCITP itself, MCITP was not available before 2007 thats why they say from 2007, I have phoned the ACS people and this was the answer i got. dont listn to me, just give a ring to the ACS office and findout for your self. why i am saying so confidently, i my self got the ACS assesment through with MCITP and i gained it on late 2008...

... all communication is through emails , and their replies are completley irrelevant to my specific situation (they just send an automated reply I guess with links to online docs , etc !
) was disappointed with their customer service !since I hold MCAD, my quickest route would be to take one more Upgrade exam and obtain MCPD (which is also listed as one of the vendor certificates with ACS) ... honestly I don't do any more coding any more but it seems to be the shortest route!
Just for info which track on MCITP have you taken ? Was your current job tightly related to that track or role ?
They say RPL is not that difficult and might be even quicker than certification!
any thoughts? ..

You just need to produce the Microsoft Certification copy and the Official Transcript details...
