ACS Assessment CISSP or IT Audit
I am preparing for the RPL application with ACS. You mentioned a few threads ago that CISSP is taken on face value. Does that mean that you dont have to do a RPL ?
The concerns that I have are:
I have a CISSP (and a CISA) and have 8 and a half years IT audit experience with no formal degree. But looking at the ACS webpage and particularly the CBOK, IT audit does not fit very well into many of the catagories (In an nutshell the CBOK is focussed on technical / programming / adminitstrator skills rather than IT risks / Governance and Regulatory Controls design and implementation that are IT audit related skills. I suppose my real question is, should ACS be the assessors for IT audit skills? or do they consider your experience and assess you on the actual job description as opposed to the CBOK standards - being IT audit as opposed to technical IT.
Thanx

CISSP will greatly help you get the MODL but you need to also pass the RPL application. Some CBOKS are essential, some are less important some you can just claim knowledge by reading up on them - so yo ureally need specialised RPL help. Ptlabs on this site offers specialist ACS services so you need not look far.

Re: ACS Assessment CISSP or IT Audit
I am currently waiting for the ACS, my application is 'In process' and has been for 8 days now. My app was received by them on 30th March and is for CISSP with MCSE giving me a route B 'diploma'. My CISA and CISM certificates have also been sent but I gather they are not acknowleged by the ACS, which is a shame as they demonstrate, IMO, a higher level of knowledge and experience!
I would suggest that if you have been doing the work of an IT auditor and covering all of the domains of CISA that you are adequately qualified and should apply as CISSP. As suggested, you may need some help with the RPL.
