ACS assessment
Hello all,
Firstly, thanks for the brilliant work being done on this forum.
I'm considering putting in an application under the Skilled Independent visa subclass 189. My occupation is Computer Network and Systems Engineer.
However, after reading the ACS skills assessment guide I am unsure how they will rate my work experience.
Basically, I started my current employment in June 2004 without a degree but studied for a degree from The Open University, UK from February 2009 to December 2012. The subject was Computing & IT. Please note that I was working full-time whilst studying for this degree.
So my question is will ACS assess my "Skill Requirement Met Date" as December 2012 AND then consider my "Skilled Employment" to be from December 2012 to date?
Lastly, given this scenario, any ideas what maximum point will I be eligible for under the "Skilled Employment" category?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: ACS assessment
In the skill assessment guidelines from ACS the following is mentioned:
If your work experience is completed before the completion date of your qualification, the Skill Level Requirement Met Date will be determined on the earliest date that BOTH the relevant work experience and the qualification are completed.
So I think your skilled employment would be from Dec 2012. Given this your skilled employment would be less than 2 years right now.
For subclass 189 you'll require at least 60 points, you can calculate your points based on your age etc and see if you meet the requirement.
