ACS assessment
Can someone advise whether it is necessary to apply for membership of the ACS before applying for assessment?

I am guessing based on this URL on the ACS website :

which implies you need to be in one of 4 categories before you :
Recent Australian Graduate
Non IT degree with experience
Member of ACS
Revalidating
and when you look at the form it asks for you ACS number.
It is just the way I read the info.........

ACS membership is also not necessary for the visa application, so there's no obligation to join the ACS upon a successful skills assessment result.
