Congratulations! You have an assessment that is MODL and CSL so indeed go ahead with your visa application.

What makes it MODL is this:
  • The explicit mentioning of the MODL speciality behind the ASCO code: 2231-79 (Network Security Specialist)
  • The line: 'Based on the provided documentation it is the opinion of the ACS that the applicant has 12 months experience in Network Security. '

That last line is to indicate that you have satisfied the MODL requirement of at least 12 months experience in an eligible speciality.

Congrats with your positive assessment.

Oh.. and indeed as rjmar says: IELTS first!

Thanks for replying me,
But as in the ACS FAQs, they clearly mentioned that

"33. Does my work experience need to be post qualification?
No, IT experience at professional level gained prior to a qualification will be considered. Pro-rate experience will also be included where appropriate."

Whats your suggestion?

Faisal Habib

Maybe this helps you:

I had applied for ACS skills assessment. I have a Bachelors in Electronics and Telecommunications. I have a Masters in Telecommunications. I preferred taking the RPL route as was not sure what ACS will consider as part of ICT in my curriculum.

I was evaluated with 5 yr 5 months of work experience, MODL. I worked for 3 employers. I completed the CBOK with 11/14 sections.

I requested each employer to provide a letter detailing my work experience. Both my project reports were with focus on security.

Hope this helps.

I understand each of your concerns but I do not think anyone will be willing to share their reference letters. Be as detailed as possible.

RPL=Recognition of Prior Learning. This is an Alternate path in case one does not have a degree with ICT major.

CBOK=Content Body of Knowledge or different Domains. There are 14 different domains. It is fine if you complete 11-12 domains out of the 14. Remember that quality is more important than quality.

Hi,

I am very new to this forum.
I have some questions. Please reply when you have time.
1. I am in SOftware Testing fields which comes under ASCo code 2231-79[nec]. Can I claim MODL points for it?

2. Ihave worked for 3 companies. Now, on the letter of every company, there is not all the requirements required by DIAC wriiten on it.
e.g. How much salary earned etc. So, if the letter is not specifying how much salary was earned, can we show salary slips and income tax return statements? Will that satisfy the condition or my case will be rejected if I dont have all the conditiond mentioned on the letter?

The letter required by ACS requires following conditions

In order for the ACS to assess whether an applicant is in a skilled occupation acceptable for skills assessment purpose, the applicant must provide detailed and descriptive employer references highlighting his/her expertise in the claimed specialisation.
These must be on company letterhead and include the job title, detailed job description and precise dates of employment. They should also clearly state whether employment was full or part-time along with demonstrated levels of competence with any computer languages, the various types of hardware and software used and the extent of involvement with any major projects. Letters of appointment or contracts are not accepted.

The DIAC requires followng things on the letter -
You must provide evidence of your specific work experience. This could include employment references and duty statements covering the required period. Please note that employment references must:
• be written on the official letterhead of the company or government department providing the reference
• indicate clearly on the letterhead, the full address of the company, any telephone and fax numbers, and email and website addresses
• have the name and position of the person authorised to sign the employment reference typed or stamped below that person's signature. A reference with an illegible signature will not be accepted
• include the direct contact number of the person writing the reference
• indicate the exact period of employment, including:
o whether permanent or temporary
o full or part time
o the main five duties undertaken
o the salary earned
o include a payslip from your current employment; this is especially important for applicants working in government departments.
o position/s held
Note: Positions should not be described by generic titles (for example, research officer) but according to the nature of the duties undertaken (for example, research chemist)

Now, in my case, the website of the company is not written on the company letter head. Also, mail id of the person who signed the letter is not written on the letter. as, I have left the previous company, I am not sure whether they will provide me the new letter or not. I know I have asked many questions. But plz plz reply when you all have time. Please tell that my case will go through or gets rejected.

Regards,

Kaushik.

Hi kaushik ,

your possible answers.......

1 – Software Testing is not the current MODL list, so you won’t get the MODL points if you apply for ACS assessment as a Software Tester.

Current MODL list can be found at > http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...-in-demand.htm

2 – If your employer doest not issue letter which states your salary then you can make a ‘self declaration letter’ ( mention how much salary you earned) and provide other salary related documents like pay slip , income tax , bank statements to back this up.

3- Not all people meets the ALL requirements set by DIAC( but they still get the visa). Most of the time some thing always missing form the list of documents what DIAC asked for.
Here DIAC need to verify your employment , so provide as much as a paper work to prove your employment. Company web site , email id is not compulsory BUT the person who signed the reference letter must be reachable some how ( via , phone / fax / email / post mail etc) to verify your employment.

4 – To get the employment letter ( for ACS/ DIAC) from employer its good idea to prepare the letter yourself and ask your employer to sign it , if your employer is not happy with the contents of the letter then remove or change those words/lines and get it signed. If your employer is not willing to provide the employment letter, then make a Statutory Declaration.( I have done the same for one employer).

Read the FAQ section on the ACS web site for more info.

Good luck
