Accountant from India
Hi,
I have done my Bachelor of commerce from Bombay University, India and
for the past 9 years working as an accountant in a private company in
Bombay. I have seen the CPAA website and I think I have studied 9 out
of the 12 subjects listed. I wanted to know if CPAA recognizes B Comm
degree and the subjects taught in Bombay University to be equivalent
to that in Australia. Are there any accountant from India with similar
experience.
Thanks to all contributors of this group of the excellent resource on
the net.

Re: Accountant from India
hi faraz,
I applied for PR last week under occpuation of Accountant from India.
I am a B.com(H) graduate and a CA. I got the assessment done by ICAA
and being CA it was not a problem. but for you , ICAA/CPA would only
let you know if you send them the application along with the
fee...after all they charge the fee for assessment only!!! but as u
said, since u have completed their requirements, it should not be a
problem...go ahead and send your assessment application. nobody can
tell you about the assessment as it is very subjectively done by the
ICAA/CPAA and their requirements are clearly mentioed on the website.
best of luck

Faraz,
How did it turn out? Did you get a +ve reply from CPAA? I hope you did. How long did it take? Did they query for any calculations?
thanks,
V
