Default 70 days timeframe for full response almost over

My CO gave me a timeframe of 70 days to response with the medical
requests. Infact I was only requested medicals as my PCC, IELTS were
frontloaded.

There hasn't been any employment verifications as of today. My CO wrote
she was waiting for some internal checks to be finalised before she
could let me know the status of ly Skilled independent 136 application,
this was one month ago.

Now the 70 days timeframe is due to be over on 13 Sept 06.
Will they still delay saying internal, routine and possibly further
checks OR will they make a decision soon as per their letter sent to me
along with the medical request?

Should I wait for their decision or should I contact my CO stating my
70 days timeframe is over??

BTW here is my timeline: Visa application for 136 MODL Sk Ind.
01Feb Acknowledgement
PCC, IELTS frontloaded
05 July meds requested (with 70 days timeframe give for full respoonse)
14 July LCU confirmed meds processed
01 Aug CO wrote waiting for internal checking to finalise.
haven't heard anything after this.

Thanks,
KEVIN

The way I read it, you were given 70 days to reply with the necessary info. It wasn't indicating 70 days until you would be given a decision.

Yep, me too

To the OP, it's usually around 4 - 12 weeks from CO getting all info to visa grant.

Hi,
The request letter says a decision will be made after the (70 days
timeframe given for full response) on the basis of the information
received. I responded in full within one week but have not heard back
from the CO. Therefore, I presumed that they would not touch my file
before the given 70 days timeframe. My PCC is clear, I have 8.5 in
IELTS, Meds are clear and confirmed by LCU, so what are they waiting
for?? My boss says he has not received any phonecalls from AHC yet.

I know each application is treated differently but normally how long
does it take for them to decide after meds, PCCs, IELTS have been
finalised. I also understand that all applications do not get
employment verifications.

Thanks,
Kevin

As per my above post, it's usually 4 - 12 weeks after everything is received to the CO making a decision.

The 70 days is there only for the benefit of making sure they aren't waiting, say 6 months or so for meds and police checks. It has absolutely no relevance to how long it takes for the CO to make a decision. The length of time it takes depends on many factors like the CO's work load, how fast they work etc.

It's a waiting game that we all have to play unfortunately and it will take as long as it takes.

Thanks,
When I have waited 10 week why not wait another 2 more. After this if I
am still not lucky will contact my CO.
Thanks again.

I agree - we had a 49 days to provide an Australian police clearance. It doesn't mean, we will hear within that 49 days, if we forward the clearance early.

Don't panic - you'll get your answer. I personally would not email the CO as they don't like that kind of thing.

Good Luck!

Why would COs give their full names and email addresses if they don't
like that kind of thing?

Why would COs give their full names and email addresses if they don't
like that kind of thing?

It is only advisable to e-mail a CO for a change of circumstances or to relay important information.

If everyone e-mailed their CO to find out what was happening they'd never get time to grant any visa's as they'd be answering e-mails all day.

Give it a bit longer, I know how frustrating it is all the waiting and everything but it's got to be done. We have all been or will be at the same stage at one time or another so can sympathise with you.

It's not an easy process, but it's worth it when you get here and trust me it comes round quickly. Try to keep yourself busy and do things that you may not be able to do once you get here, like spend time with family or go visit a favourite place, that makes it pass quicker.

All the best, and we'll look forward to your post telling us you have it.

All I know is that our COS said only to notify them if there was a change in circumstance, that emailing her between times, could cause delays.

It is hard waiting - but we're all in the same boat, or have been!

All the best

I got very impatient and could not resist writing a polite email to my
CO on Sunday night.
and Presto..... The first thing on Monday morning My CO replies saying
she is finalising a few things and would let me know about the status
of my Visa in a few days. She also was very nice enough to mention that
she has my medicals and Police Certificates.

I feel greatly relieved now. Hope the few days won't last too long.

Just as a matter of interest Kevin what did you say to her when you e-mailed her as mine said not to contact her unless there was a change in circumstances.

Hi Tracie,
it was just a polite email requesting about my application status and a
few line asking whether she had received my PCC and meds and whether
she required any further information. They are also people like you and
me and a nice email can do no harm.
Cheers,
Kevin
