I am supportive of setting up the fund account, and glad that Sankan1 has stepped up to be a delegate for the on-shore applicants.
But as I'm sure you realise, there isn't going to be a representative for the off-shore applicants (in person). So we'd all like to think you + whoever goes as a delegate will represent the interests of all applicants- I think George Lombard has indicated that he is willing to aid a delegation representing ALL, not only the on-shore's. The big majority in this mess are offshore applicants, but we are at a disadvantage that we cannot reasonably get to Australia for any protest/delegation/representations...

We can make a call to the UK rep. by the time we meet Minister.:) But we have to make sure the timing matches:).

George and I are looking for Sydney advocate 悉尼代表 to represent for delegation. If you are interested, please don't feel shy and give me a buzz 0433890132. You can win a free trip to ACT Canberra:rofl:.

Is there anyone from UK affected by this tragedy, living/visiting Australia.
Come on there has to be someone in Coogee, Bondi etc.
Please come forward and accompany Sankan1, Kenwen and the subject matter expert to Canberra.

The parliament spring session begins on Aug 26th. All the heavyweights will be in Canberra, at the same time.

If the minister is waiting for conclusion of the legal procedings, then he should let us know. Court procedings can drag on and on for years. Hopefully the delegation can confirm this, and let them know its extremely unfair to make us wait indefinitely while protracted legal wranglings drag on.

Also we need to ask about the authenticity of July 1 rumour of grant of five points to all affected applicants, i.e. why did they change their mind at the last minute and did not go ahead with the grant of 5 points to all.

If the minister's office was more forthcoming with the information, all of us would be in a better frame of mind to ascertain where we stand.

The officials within the ministry have a serious case of constipation. Please take along heavy duty laxative with you and offer it to them.

Re: 5 points for Investement Bond withdrawn Sept 07??

Yes, that's what I wanted (-)

Alright, I'll introduce my self. I am 26, Oz master degree holder and been in australia for more than 4 years now with Indian Background. Working in ISP since more than year. I've never been a presenter at this sort of level but dont mind doing this time. For offshore applicant (specially from UK) if they cannot come to OZ than we can choose one of the option below;

************************************************** ***************
-> We can organize Laptop and Mobile wireles broadband for Video Conferencing so that while sitting in your home/ office you still able to attend it.
-> To have telphone conference through internet or through phone
(I think internet conference is an easy option)
************************************************** ***************
In addition to this if we have UK representative's ACTIVE relative who is willing to take part in delegation gives more pressure on minister.

I am telling you again and again, please dont consider waiting as an option.

We have enough base now.

******************************************
Who is going to start questionarrie ?
******************************************
Cheers SanKan1

p.s. UK members please start working on finding a relative if cannot than, at last we have an option written above.

If there are any US citizens affected by this, pls contact yr local congressman/senator. This is an international scam to put it mildly.
The seller (the Australian government) offered to sell a product. The buyers (applicants) invested their hard earned money to buy this product.
Now all of a sudden, the seller has become non-commital on the delivery of the product, not only blocking the buyers resources (application fee), as well as causing financial pain (100K not being invested prudently, onshore students can't find jobs consumerate with their qualifications, ielts, meds exps etc).
Additionally, the seller is asking the buyer to make another payment to buy the same product. In fact, the seller offered to sell the product for 2K and now after the contract was signed, everything was agreed upon, they have doubled the price. For those not willing to pay the additional amount, the seller has given the option to wait till the cows come home. This is an international scandal.

The two foreign governments Australia has very close links are Britain and USA. Citizens of these two countries pls share your plight with yourrepresentatives.

Re: 5 points for Investement Bond withdrawn Sept 07??

:)I have received requests from senior members of this forum that to create an account on behalf of BritishExpats forum's thread (5 points for IBWS07). The fund within this internet account would be currently under my name however it will be only used for financially support for the delegation and further immigration consultancy. The fund will be monitored by the initial register MR. G. Wen and he realised that personal withdrawal for other purpose is NEVER permitted.

For the voluntary fund contributors, please acknowledge and accept the following

terms and conditions:

1. To be eligible to contribute money into this acc., the sender has to be the pre-91 Capital Investment scheme victims. ID and description are needed to be filled for internet transfer.

2. The fund is set for sending delegation to see minister and no possible outcome will be guaranteed for the meeting.

3. The decision on the money spending made by the main forum’s majority by the following senior members.
Joannec2014, Gazzap, Elton John, JimInAustralia, Sanka1, On Air Mobile, Brisbound, Tom_VI, Lyse, Geelong.

4. For every single transaction, MR G. Wen will need to provide explanation on money expend and again corresponding receipt need to be provided.

5. The fund only runs for lawful business. Any action towards offensive and provocative purpose would not be approved by the initial register.

6. The funds account ends on 15/SEP/08. The closure of the account means No further money transfer can be made (Sorry, I have to leave for overseas trip about a month starts from the 18/SEP/08.). Renewal for the account needs under approval from the forum members and MR G. Wen.

7. The money you paid is not refundable. Any remaining or exceeding amount after 15/SEP/08 goes to the delegation team or Australian Registered Charity. Certainly corresponding receipt needs to be provided.

8. Initial register G. Wen (Ken Wen) reserves the right of the termination of the existing account.

9. The fund subscribes $4 monthly services fee to Commonwealth Bank from Oct 2008 onwards. So technically, there will be no charge if it ends by the due date 15/SEP/08.

10. Contributors must agree to pay their own internet transfer charge as well as dollar exchanged.

Re: 5 points for Investement Bond withdrawn Sept 07??

:thumbsup:ACCOUNT DETAILS:

:eek:How much sould I contribute?
We assume that approx. minimum 40 forum viewers would like to make contribution to the fund. So we suggest to devide the sum by 40 and sort it by ranges. Therefore, according to the list below, please choose the range that suits your expectation.

$1000- Sorry, not much we can do $25 per person
$2000- Maybe enough to pay agent??? $50 pps
$3000- Sufficient to send delegation $75 pps
$4000- Agent + Delegation + Canberra meeting $100 pps
$5000- Enough to support an UK rep. to canberra + above conditions $125 pps

PS:
1. Please pay by integer amount e.g. $125, $70, but no $70.50.
2. We don't accept anything larger than $125 per person because we suggest to saperate the cost evenly.
3. Please specify your name and description "Money for Delegation Support"when you transferring the sum via internet. Preferably send me an email to confirm it.

I personally choose the $4000 option because it sounds reasonable to me.
Just let you know that, I had already put $50 into the fund as the opening amount
+ $5 to Saving Acount to afford and avoid service charge in the future.
+ $25 for last Consultation with George
+ $50 for petrol to offer free lift for delegation from Syd to ACT .
Roughly, I've paid $130 already. I think my role as the forum assistant and "MY DUTY" will finish here. Now please show us your REAL SUPPORT Cheers.

I totally agree with you, but I just worry about this issue is too small for a big congressman to rise something in lower house or even say something to media.
Anyhow, everything worth to try it now, and not just US applicants should contact their MP, but also other EU nations' applicants may should ask their PM for a favour. Or send our story to every EU nations' main news agency, may be they could use their pens to give Australian govt. more pressure. Espencially, Aussie govt. officals are quite care about their faces in the international society.

Elton... this is NOT an "international scam" the rules changed in the middle of your application its not nice but it is life and has happened to many many people over the years including myself. The Australian Government is not out to get you nor scam you of your money.

As you clearly think that there is major dishonesty within Australia if DIAC was to pay your money back on the proviso that you do not apply for another Australian visa would that be good enough for you?

I for one would start a whip round to get you your application fee back if it would stop the constant disparaging of and attack on Australia that has become the hallmark of your posts.

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry but in the interests of security etc I've had to remove the actual bank account details - BE has no problem to them being shared by email or pm, but please not on the open forum.

Likewise anyone getting involved needs to realise that BE can take no actual role in this - full marks and thanks to Kenwen20 for getting all this set up, and I hope it gets a good result for you all in the end, but please don't email me asking for advice on what is going on and whether you should join in. BE, and its admin/moderators, have no role in this, you need to talk to the other posters on the thread.

The scenario here is quite simple and straightforward. Just assume we were in a casino, e.g. “Star City”, playing Black Jack on at one of those tables and firmly holding chips which are our precious time even whole life. We just felt adequately confident in this bout and “all-in” with our lives. Wow! We won! But…All of sudden, the dealer was changed, and so were the rules. The new dealer (Labor) said “sorry, due to complexity of changing, let’s play it again, but you only have to bet all over again…….” What?!!!!!
We didn’t decide to come here to join the country named “Labor” or “Liberty”. The truth is we did because we liked to be part of Australia, no matter who the xxxx the ministers are, so putting the blame on the previous government won’t make any sense at all! What about our lives!

Ex-exile,

If you read my earlier posts, I had sympathised with DIAC/Minister predicament, when a lot of forum members were losing their patience.

My patience ran out, when they had the audacity to ask for a second visa charge, without mentioning anything about the refund of our original application fee.
This type of business practice is totally unethical in my book.

I would certainly welcome back my application fee on the proviso I wouldn’t apply for another Australian visa. But then I can change my mind can’t I.

As you would say that’s life.
