489 Visa timescales
Hi guys
I'm a newbie, my family and I lodged our 489 visa application on 14th May. I was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience with this visa and the timescales for a decision. When we lodged the guideline timescsles were 7-9 months but after July it's gone up to 9-12 months. I'm just being impatient but would be interested in others experienced. Many thanks in advance!

Not sure that really helps though as each visa is individual, and the results match the guidelines now stated.

Currently 75% of applications are completed in 8 months and 90% done within 11 months. That does not mean it is a 8 - 11 months processing time. Statistically you should be completed before 8 months, however 10% of applications are completed after 11 months so you could be in that group. It is really impossible to tell.
Statistically you shouldn't be far away from being processed.

Hi
Old.sparkles is right, I applied Feb 27th and my visa came through Oct 23rd so all in all, just under 8 months. Super happy and well worth the wait but I remember feeling impatient at times.
The best thing I found was when I let myself relax over it and take a step back (I cut down on how many times I checked my immi account) and it did the world of good. I was actually shocked to see my grant letter just sat there waiting for me one morning.
Good luck XX

I knew I wanted to come to SA so I submitted my EOI, and then went to the South Australian immigration website and put in an application asking to be sponsored. I was invited to apply about 11 days after submitting my EOI and state nomination application. I then applied for my visa the day I was offered to

I'm a little confused as to what is considered regional, home affairs website indicates that the whole of WA is considered regional, the same with Victoria. But the WA immigration website mentions Perth is not considered regional, anybody able to clarify??? Link below for regional areas.

I know, i was surprised at both WA and Victoria are all classed as regional lol. Checked before and that wasn't the case. I emailed the WA immigration website just to find out anyway.

In the following, the only states that are considered entirely regional are South Australia, the NT and Tasmania.
