Question 457 work may sponsor me - what is the wage requirement?

Hi all
We are exploring all avenues to stay in this fantastic country!

I mentioned to my boss that under my working holiday visa, I will sadly have to finish under visa regulations before work shart a great new term!

I really want to be part of it, and my boss mentioned sponsorship today, I looked into and gave her the info, BUT

I am classed as a part time teacher! I teach for 24.10 hours a week and get paid $36,000 give or take a few hundred $$

I also teach an extra hour a a day from mon to thurs which I get paid $27 an hour

Which increases my salary

Is it still within the wage bracket to stay? I am crap at maths and seriously dont understand it!

As an English as a Second Language teacher you get paid to teach part time hours but as with all teachers you work full time, as your planning and marking has to be done!! ]

Could they sponsor me? Please help!!

Cheers

Hi Saffy,

There are a number of issues, but the short answer is that the minimum salary you must receive as wages is most likely A$43440 (but you should use http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/457-tax-super.pdf to check that and whether your $27 per hour additional salary can be counted towards that will depend on your circumstances. Doesn't matter if you're crap at maths, the formula is pretty frightening, see http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skill...ccupations.pdf .

Cheers,
