457 visa without family??

457 visa without family??
Hi all
I'm due to start to work in WA next April.
As to the 457 application still one question left:
Does my familiy have to come with me to activate the visa in April or is it possible for them to arrive 3 months later.Because of private reasons (selling house/business etc) they can't come with me at my commencing date.
Is it feasible for my wife and the 2 kids to apply for a subsequent immigration later? Can anybody tell anything about the additional charges?
Any help is much appreciated

For the 457 visa you can get the visas together but individual members of the family can come and go as they please. There is no first entry date and you can be in Australia or overseas at the time of grant. Your employer will probably have all this under control if using an agent.
