Default 457 Visa Sponsor now approved

hi i am currently going through a 457 visa as i have been offered a job in Cairns as a fire sprinkler fitter. My sponsor has now been approved and my nomination is fire Services plumber, My agent is submitting my Visa Application beginning of jan. the question is does anyone have a rough idea how long it takes after sponsor been approved till my visa gets granted. the problem i have got is my rental contract runs out end of January in UK. Any help much appreciated. Also if you have a approved sponsor are my chances high of getting a visa

Has the nominated position been approved? Or just the sponsor? End of January seems a bit tight, but possible, ere really is no way of knowing in advance. I expect you have somewhere you can crash when the UK rental contract runs out.

This is the email I got so no nomination not approved yet ....

Finally, the employer parts of the application have now been assessed. The Business has been approved as a Sponsor, which is great news. The DIBP case officer has asked for some supporting documents for the Nomination, so I will be in touch with Tony and Liz about hits. I will keep you posted on progress.

You might make January, 457's can be really quick, but it's obviously not helped by DIBP pretty much shutting up shop for the holidays. I got a 457 in about six weeks from start to finish, but that was best part of a decade ago now.

I hope you know what you're letting yourself in for working in roof voids in Cairns? The temps will be fierce.

Hi creature, yes regarding temperatures, yes I do realise it will be mega hot as my best friend moved there 5 years ago and I'll be working with him for the same company. I have spent a lot of time in Philippines as my wife is from there and have helped out with some construction during hi temps. Certainly takes it out of you. Gonna take me a while to get used to the temps in cairns thou your right. Creature are medical and police checks compulsory. As this will obviously delay things. I've never been in trouble with police so would be ok and as far as I know in good health.

Not necesrily for the 457 visa actually. Usually depends on occupation. We didn't when we came across and my husband is a medical IT specialist working onsite in hospitals at times. Nurses/teachers are nearly always required on 457 visa but not so much other occupations.

OK. Not sure if that's changed from my time then because my entire family had to undergo medical checks... even the kids.

Ok hopegully not then biker girl ill update this thread as my visa progresses. There is a chance my wife might need medical as she had tb in 2010 but not the type that can be transmitted. She was 100% free from it after 6 months of medication. We have sent letter to visa agency from hospitsl so hopefully that helps

Hi. our 457 took only 11 days to be granted, so hopefully yours will be quick too - good luck
