I applied for Northern Territory sub class 457 for IT,,I know it will take approximately 30 weeks but I heard for some jobs like IT will be faster due to high demand..Is it true?? any one know how long will take to get approval??

No it is not true that a 457 typically takes 30 weeks. Also I don't think that there is any preference depending on occupation and if there was I don't think that IT is particular in high shortage.

The 457 can take a few weeks to a few months.

We've been told to expect 4-6 weeks, however that will be for the Sydney area. I think it is a case of how long is a piece of string really though.

With ours it was put in by the company for their part around end November and we were granted permission to place ours mid January - after that it took 5 weeks and 1 day, but some peeps before us were being granted in about 3 weeks......

So would you please tell me after that how log toke it after apply with DIAC to get visa??
did you apply in 2010 - 2011 ??
Are you living in Darwin?? because we have plan to go to Darwin hopefully after get our visa.

Hi, we applied for SS for the NT and i received positive news last Wednesday (22/6) it took about 11/12 weeks. im in the process of lodging my visa's.

It took us 5 weeks with DIAC to get our visa after lodging, so hopefully not too long for you now.
We will be living just outside of Darwin, my OH there already, I am now in NSW waiting for our dog to come out of quarantine....

About 11/12 weeks prior to the 22/6 presumably.

This is not a time line site and other people's timelines are totally irrelevant to your situation.
