Hi all, have just found out our case officer wants a copy of my ex partners passport for his and I,s kids . so they can come with me and new partner to Aust. Now we already submitted the child consent form 1229 that my ex partner signed in front of a solicitor. Case officer says he wants a passport copy or copy of custody papers. Ex does not have passport nor is there custody papers as it was straight forward joint custody.
I am losing will to live as we are 24hrs from getting visas, in fact I am raging! 2 years of one hassle after another now this! What else can I provide in connection with the dumb twat I unfortunately married 18 years ago and divorced 10 years ago!
My agent has never heard of this being asked for this, as thats why we sign the 1229 form, please please can someone offer me a glimmer of hope?

They want some kind of ID document for the other parent. Instructions on form 1229 explain this.
If he doesn't have a passport (very unusual in the UK), has he got anything else? Driving licence? Expired passport?
Also - does the permission govern permanent residence? You'll need that unless you plan to come back home.

I had to get a copy of my ex's passport too, I thought that was just standard!
No idea what you can do if he doesn't have one, other than get him to get one!
