Default 457 Delays

Has anyone else had delays in the processing of a 457 (Business Sponsored) Visa?

Mine's been in for 2.5 months now, and was originally told it would be 2-3 weeks.

Any idea's as to what might be causing the delay?

I'm currently in Australia, i lodged the application from here. I'm on a bridging visa.

Please help....
Mark

Not too sure about doing that. I've gone through a migration agency. I've asked them to check on the status, and unfortunately i get the same reply, "We are performing internal checks".

I have no idea how far down the line the application has gone.... or what these checks may be...

What sould i do....

Hi Bob,

Mostly the decision process in a subclass 457 application concentrates on
the sponsor, rather than the visa applicant. If there is this kind of delay
and you have heard nothing, that's what I think it would be. Once you go
onto a bridging visa, however, there can be complications if the sponsor is
refused; get your sponsor to check with the agent.

Cheers

Hiya- BobDylan; just to say that you're not the only one, my Visa is
taking forever as well- just over 9 weeks now; the strange thing is
all this while, all I get is no one has been assigned to my case, and
there's no 'status code' to indicate how far anyone's gotten with it.

However, in contrast to BobDylan, my company (which is by no means
huge, but very few softcos are!) has decided to 'wing it' and not use
the services of an agent. I've got just over a month before the
dreaded bridging visa scenario sets in, which I'm losing sleep over.
Is there any advice anyone can give me as to what to do if I've not
got an agent to speak to?
