Unhappy 457 business visa - partner wants to change career

Hi - don't know if anyone can help - in a bit of a mess.
My other half got a job as a nurse here in sydney & as a consequence was granted a 457 4 year long stay business visa. I came along as her de-facto partner.tyhis was just 7 weeks ago... Condition of 457 is that she works for same employer / profession...
I now have a decent job as a manager in the City (insurance - boring!!) whic i only started 2 weeks ago.
Partner has now dropped the bombshell that she can't stand nursing & was hoping it was better out here!! Decided that she really can't do it any more & wants to leave.... wish she'd thought of discussing what she was thinking with me before we made the big move. I honestly also think it's a mixture of new job anxiety & a little bit of homesickness.
Anyway she is on the brink of jacking the job in and no matter what I say I cannot get her to try to stick it out to see if it gets any better!!!
I reall ywant to give Oz a go - at least 6 months to a year - to see if it really suits. I have a feeling we could be really happy here.. I need to try to find out if I could possibly get sponsorship from my work - I'm 35 but still doing my 3 month probation...
Anyway, my question is - has anyone been in a similar situation ??reallistically how much time space might we have if she just gave her job up? How easy do you think it might be for me to get visa r some sort of sponsorship?
Any thoughts or experiences would greatly help. Could I go to any decent visa agents or something...bit desperate really....
why can thngs never be easy....

ta very much

Why on earth did you both come out to Australia on a 457 visa rather than getting a permanent (136) visa from the outset? With a permanent visa you would both have plenty of options, now you have very few.

It would be best for your partner to look now to see if she qualifies for a 136 visa, if so apply for it, and once the 136 is granted she can leave nursing if she wishes. You would also have full work rights at that point.

For any other strategy, you need good professional advice. Be really careful as one false step could send you on a one-way trip home.

Dear All,

Think it is what we call culture shock......Oz is a big step like
anywhere but you will be up and down for first 1-2 years.....that is
normal
