Default 417 to 457

Hi all,

I have a friend who is currently on a 417 WHV from the UK, they're currently temping at a large franchised company who showing signs of interest in regards to sponsoring on a 457. She could fall under the Program & Project Administrator with the type of work she is currently doing.

The issue is she does not have a degree or five years (think is that?!) of relevant/similar work experience.

Has anyone been in a similar experience and got the sponsorship etc?

Hi,

The short answer is that if the large franchised company has a labour agreement or relevant expertise in 457s then they would be in a better position to know whether this is viable than the rest of us. Depends on many variables.

Yep I know, being on a 457 myself - we aren't sure yet if they are... if they already had the sponsorship in place would it be easier to get around not having exactly the right skills?

Only the employer/employer's migration agent is likely to know. What have they said already?

Hasn't got that far yet, in early discussions at the moment.
