410/Parent visas
Both our children both have PR in Australia. We hope to obtain a 410 Retirement visa in order to spend a period of 6-9 months in Australia next year. On returning to the UK we would decide whether to move to Australia, either by applying for the new Parent visa, or continuing to use the 410 visa, subject to its renewal (which would possibly have tax advantages for up to 4 years).
This poses several questions:-
1. If we used the 410 for a 6-9 months stay in Australia where would we be liable for tax?
2. Would the "capital available for transfer" (one of the 410 visa requirements) have to be taken into and remain in Australia even though we may return to the UK for, say, up to a year before going back to Australia?
3. Would the private health insurance (which is obligatory for the 410) have to be paid continuously for the period of the visa, or could payments be suspended whilst we were back in the UK?
Can anyone help, please?
