Default 2 Visa applications - help

I have a independnt Skilled PR visa on the go from about 10 months ago. My employer has just asked me to go out to Aus on in about 6 weeks time. This will need to be on a Sponsored Temporary Overseas Employee visa. Is there a problem having 2 visas on the go at the same time. I understand that the last visa granted will overide all previous visas and that I need to be out of Aus when the PR visa is granted.

To be honest, I am still in shock that I may be going in a couple of months, not sure if I am mentally prepared for this?

Cheers, Chris.

as far as i know funcky chick.. you only have to be out of the country when PR is granted if you were out of the country when you applied for it.

If you apply once you are over there then you wont have to leave the country to get it issued.

as for the 2 visas at once ... i dont know im afraid..

hope this helps and that im right!

Why would u need a sponsor visa?
U are already legally able to work and live in Australia based on your first
visa.

Hello there Funky Chicken,

Regarding your query about having two visas on the go at once, I asked a similar question a few weeks back. If you search back for the thread title "Sponsorship visa possible when already applied for general skilled visa?" you should see the replies. In case you get any problems they are also below!

Thanks!

Hi BD,

If your employer is in a regional area they can skill match you (ie
convert your visa application from a 136 to a 134) but it seems to me
that you'll be getting a request for medicals etc in the near future
anyway. No limit to the number of applications you can lodge, even in
the same subclass. We have had two pre-July applicants lodge further
applications for subclass 136 visas to speed their processing, and of
course you're also able to apply for any other class of visa you want.
But in practical terms I can't see the point in preparing and submitting
an employer nomination application if you're almost there.

Cheers,

George Lombard

Hi Mr Dog,
I did a similar thing, applied for permanent residency, got bored of
waiting so came here on a holiday visa! While here I got a job with
sponsorship which covered me until the permanent visa came through.
They're completely independent and don't have any effect on each other.
When your permanent residency to stay in Australia is granted, you have
to leave the country to get it (Aussie Logic!). I just went to NZ for a
week.
Good luck,
Have a merry, cold, wet, Christmas!
Regards,
Nick

Be careful. Very careful.

The *last* thing you want is to have your PR visa overriden by a temporary visa if something goes wrong within the system.

Have you been asked for medicals or police checks yet?
