Default 175 Application - Relationship Status: Never Married or De-Facto?

Hi everyone,

I am currently preparing my 175 online application.

Everything is clear to me at this moment except one thing: in the personal details, they ask for "relationship status". I currently have a girlfriend but we do not yet fulfill the 12month requirement. According to the online help I then would NOT select "De-facto" but rather "Never married" - correct?

(yes, I am currently applying alone)

Thanks,
Peter

Hi and welcome to BE. Probably splitting hairs with this, but logic dictates that if you select "defacto" option, DIAC would automatically assume you are to include your defacto spouse into the application. If you are applying alone atm, do you plan to add her later on?

With the current processing times that will not be possible timing wise I fear but I would like to yes.

Thanks for your answers!

Just as an aside for now, it may be worth reading up on sponsoring a spouse if/when you become a permanent resident. Usual things like co-habitation, etc. would still apply, but you'd be a sponsor then, so focus on these requirements if you want the relationship to carry over.
