Default 175 withdrawl

if you have lodge 175, and now wish to lodge 176, how do you withdraw 175? how long does it take to withdraw?

can you lodge 176 only after you have received a withdrawal letter from diac?

Hi Canadian1021,

You don't have to withdraw your 175 for lodging 176. Instead you can run both the applications in parallel. For withdrawal, DIAC will take 6-10 weeks to complete the process. So I believe it is better for you to run both applications in parallel (one as online and the other as paper-based application).

The online system will not allow you to lodge multiple applications. So you can lodge your 176 visa as paper-based.

No you can run both the applications in parallel. You cannot lodge both the applications online instead you can have second one paper-based.

dont listen to these people, rubbish advice, if you apply and gain state sponsorship you then attach the state sponsorship to your 175 application and your case officer will process you application as a 176. its all the same visa, just different subclasses.

If you have logged your application before July 2010, you still can convert your 175 to a 176 application

In general, there is no problem in lodging two visa applications together. so should not be problem in this case.. also have a look at a similar thread...

As posted by fuel for mind,

Today I dialed DIAC and I came to know that, for withdrawal they will take at least 30 working days for the process before allowing you to lodge another application online.

So think twice before you go ahead and withdraw. It is always better to run both the applications in parallel.

Thanks canadian for your information, and I think I should add mine also

if you 175 application is lodged after 1st july 2010, you have to do the withdrawal after getting state sponsorship and would like to change to 176, that is required by IMMI. No simmultaneous applications is allowed. (I have tried to lodge another online, it is not possible, yet you can try doing that by paper, but i guess they will find out easily)

if your 175 application is lodged before 1st Jul 2010, you can apply for a change from 175 to 176 after getting state sponsorship.
