17 when validates but 18 when moving to OZ....problem?
hi all, hopefully someone knows the answer to my question as i can't find anything about this on the DIMIA website. my son will be 17 when we validate our visas (he's down as a dependent on my visa) but may be 18 when we finally move there. is this likely to cause a problem? selina

I may be way off base and I must stress this is my own interpretation of the situation. This may sound a little long winded but here is my analogy
If you were to migrate as soon as you got your visa when your son was 17, stay in oz for 12 months, then decided to return to the uk for 6 months and your son became 18 there would be no problem returning back to oz,
As long as you have been issued with the visa and validated it I cannot see why the change in age will cause a problem. All your circumstances will be still be the same apart from time (age) and it is my understanding that the visa’s are valid for 5 years.
If however you do not validate your visa prior to him becoming 18 this may well be a different situation
The best people to ask for a definitive answer would be George or welsh Tony
Hope this is food for thought
