136 Acknowledged...

Hello,
Our 136 Application arrived in Oz on August 23rd and we got an email yesterday morning saying the following (cut down a little bit):
Your application will be assessed in approximately four months and your case officer will contact you at this time to advise you of the next stage in the process.
The approximate processing time for Skilled Migration applications is 6 months if it is on the MODL or is being processed under one of the regional categories. For all other categories the approximate processing time is 9 months.
Just hope the timescales are realistic and glad we know someone actually has our application. I guess this is a bulk standard reply from them but we were wondering if when it was really slow moving that they actually wrote the process could take 9, 10, 12 months etc. Anyone care to comment?
Its all very well having it signed for but where does it go then? Thrown in to a huge room bursting at the seams with thousands and thousands of applications!
And.....
The email was sent to us by and individual ([email protected]) and says the following:
To whom it may concern
Please find attached a letter acknowledging receipt of your Skilled visa
application by the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre (ASPC).
You will be informed by this office if you are required to provide further
information in support of your visa application in due course.
If you have any difficulties opening the attachment please notify this
office immediately via return e-mail.
This is a private work email address and returned emails will not be
answered.
Please e-mail the [email protected] with any further
enquiries.
Now is this person our Case Officer or do we get someone else? As it says not to contact them by replying to this email. I thought when you had a Case Officer you were allowed to be in contact with them etc.
Any ideas...

Dont think it is a case officer. My acknowledgement was from a lady, with no job title, but I have just received a CO today and it specifically shows her title, i.e case officer.

Cheers Carruss/Rooksie. DIMIA got mine at the end of August, so looks like we're on the same time line.
Will keep you posted if I hear anything also along this arduous journey.

Nice one Rooksie..........It must have been that quick word I had with them offline that did it ! ! ! (I told them how desperate you were............for the Visa that is!).
May have to look at booking the meds and getting the police checks done soon.

Just a bit concerned about the year to validate part of it all from when the Meds or Police Checks are done.
