Default $A100k bond and meds

Can anyone tell us what would happen if the bond didn't reach Oz in time - is the visa refused ?

Also can anyone tell us what the meds include and what the x-rays are for ?

Thanks very much

Justin.

If you think your money will not reach DIMIA in time, then i think you can write to your case file worker for an extension, explaining why u need more time. I think this is right, i am sure someone else will add to this.

Also can anyone tell us what the meds include and what the x-rays are for ?

I have just book my medicals for august 4th and would also like the answer to this questions.

Thanks very much

Justin.

Hi,

They are to see if you are of good health, and whether or not you have an illness etc which will be a finacial burden to the Australia Government.

Cheers

Justin,

The Case Officer can only make a decision on the information that he has to hand - thus I would imagine that if you hadn't sent evidence of the bond lodgement (actually you don't send that, the state Govt does) then you wouldn't be entitled to the bonus points. Therefore, if you were relying on the 5 bonus points to pass you wouldn't get a visa (but I think you would pass into the pool?).

However, you have around 56 days to lodge the bond after you are asked to do so - that should be plenty of time, it's not actually hard to do (as long as you have the money!).

The letter sent to us requesting the bond mentioned that it was in order to
gain an extra 5 points, and that if the deposit was not made within the time
limit the case officer could decide our application based on the evidence to
hand. This would have meant rejection as we needed the 5 points to make the
115 mark.

As I remember the bond was requested around 6 weeks after our medicals were
sent, presumably after DIMIA had verified we hadn't got galloping gut-rot or
something.
