Could you pls advice what to do if your profession is on the Immediate Shoratege list?

Do we ge points for it or its just another list???

I read some where that we can apply for a Work Permit without a job offer but I am not very sure.

Appreciate any assistance

You cannot apply for a work visa or permit without a job offer first. You need a job offer to apply for the temporary work visa or permit.

If your occupation is on the immediate shortage list (although these lists have just been re-vamped by NZIS) it just means that an NZ employer is able to employ you in that occupation without having to go through some immigration paperwork.

If you want to apply under the skilled migrant route, then you must have an occupation that NZIS - NZ immigration - see as skilled. That is a whole other list . With that list the skill and occupation needs to match the work experience and the quals

What is your occupation ? I will check the skill level . Or you can do this using the ANZSCO listing.

As I said. New Zealand Immigration do not issue work visas or permits unless there is a job offer to go with it. So, your friend MUST get the job offer FIRST and then she can apply for the work visa/permit.
New Zealand Immigration check the job offer & the employer out before issuing any work permit/visa.

Your friend will have to educate the NZ employer about the fact it is the job offer first before a work permit is issued. She can direct them to the NZIS website or have the employer contact NZIS direct.

Good luck
