what age do the school start? is it 4 like the UK?

what age do the school start? is it 4 like the UK?
Hi guys me again!
just wondering my son is currently in nursey over here and would be gonig to school next sept ( tho we should ..... no WILL be in nz!
)
do the school age start later like 5? or can he go straight into school over there?
if not any ideas on nursey charges over there?

Kids start school on their 5th birthday (not much of a birthday present is it)
I have found nursery/childcare costs a lot cheaper over here. Approx $4-$8 per hour. Also, once a child is 3 years+ then they are entitled to 20 free hours of childcare at a kindy/nursery

my my its much cheaper over there for childcare then isnt it!
thats not a problems, was just unsure wether he would be in nursey that little bit longer!
