Uk qualifications NZ equivalent
Hi. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
My partner has an NVQ level 3 in principles of bus and coach repair (diesel mechanic), which is on the skills shortage list, but we're not sure how this fits into the NZ qualifications framework for the purpose of the points indicator. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Who awarded the NVQ3 please. How many years of training & study / apprenticeship?

The awarding body is the IMI (Institute of the motor industry). I believe the study time was 3 years, but will have an additional two years of experience by the time we move.
Thanks

Hhmm.
They don't appear on the NZIS list of recognisedawarding bodies. ( appendix 3 of the NZIS operations manual). Is there another phrase like National Apprenticeship Service etc?
I also couldn't find anything on the IMI website to say they were the actual training provider .
Was this an apprenticeship?
An NVQ3 should be good enough to gain points , however the training etc needs to be recognised by NZIS. It may be that you will need a PAR to assess the NZ level.

Yes it's an apprenticeship. It's a bit unusual as the first part (the nvq 2) was obtained through the British Armed forces. I will get him to check his certificates and look where you have advised.
Thank you for your help (again!)
