Default Resident visa and change of career

Hi all. My husband and I have recently obtained our resident visa under the skilled migrant category (his job is on the LTSSL).

We are planning on going for permanent residency when the time comes, but I have a question around the visa conditions.

There's nothing on our visas to stipulate that he has to stay in the same job or indeed the same career now that residency has been obtained - but does anyone know if this is the case?

Could he change careers completely and still be ok for permanent residency or does he need to stay in the same occupation due to us having gained visa on the SMC?

Thanks

I believe you have to stay in the job for 3 months but that could of been changed since MrF came over in 2011/12.

It should be in the paperwork you got from the CO

You only need to stay in a job for minimum 3 months if your RV application included points for a job offer. It will be a condition stated on the visa sticker. If this is the case, once he has done 3 full months in that job he can apply to have that condition removed and once removed by Immigration he can leave that job/employer and do anything he likes.

If you applied for RV without points for a job offer then there is no employment condition as the visa is awarded without you having a job, but trusts that you will be able to secure one post visa award.
