is it possible to immigrate with my diploma?
Hi all
I graduated college in London last year and I've got level 3 advanced diploma (NVQ) in Food Preparation and Cookery Supervision. It is from City and Guilds in London institute, I also found NZ colleages where offer exactly same course as mine. (But with NZQA level)
I'm struggling with finding out whether my diploma can be assessed by NZQA and I can get points when I apply for skilled immigration. I should get the points otherwise I will have less than 140 points which means it can be more difficult to get in the pool.
I've found several threads while googling but they were from last 5 years or so.
thank you in advance.
(I'm not a native speaker so my grammar could sound odd! :P)

Yeah I want to get a job as a chef which is on the skilled list A, just from commis chef (beginner). Nothing's happened yet but I want to make sure if it's possible before I move and try to immigrate there.. because it is a "big thing" in my life that I live out of my home country.

if you intend to to use the diploma and you need it for the visa you do need to get it assessed. on the Long Term Skilled Shortage list you also have to have:
"AND
a minimum of five years' combined experience in establishments offering a la carte/banqueting or commercial catering, with a minimum of two years at Chef de Partie (Section Leader level or higher)"
on the list of Skilled Occupation you would need an offer from an accredited company and met the criteria that Immigration request.
