OMG - 6 days to go now!!!!
Bringing 6 suitcases, -they are all full and have not put any clothes at all in yet!!! looks like im going to be re-organising/prioritising all our stuff!! Starting to panic now.

make sure you check all airlines you are using for their baggage allowance. Ours differed between BA and Qantas

Oh wow Skends, great news. If you have airNZ for all of your flights they only charge excess baggage once (we came with them via LAX and Auckland); have to say we were impressed with them.
With the house rentals we looked for open view days (checked trademe just before we flew and used wireless in holiday let), but also phoned some agents when here (they give their contact numbers in the trademe adverts) and found out other open view times. They seem to only give you 10 mins to view a rental and loads of people turn up! if you like it you take a form from the agent (no need to pre-print as they have them on them), fill out the form and cross your fingers!

Thanks pink one - constantly on trademe just looking at all the different rentals and prices - so confused as to which area to concentrate on, but think we need to get there first to get a better idea - as others have said.
we dont really want to be in the city but fairly closeby and we would like to be near the coast too so have ideas about areas but will see when we get there.
