no wonder waiting times for London Immigration
is long and in back log.
Just called my Immigration Officer, voice mail obviously, to find that she only works 4 days a week, no work on Friday.

True I remember 3 years ago I knew someone who got PR all done and dusted and passports back within 4 weeks.
They seem to be a bit snowed under of late.
EOI selected 7th Sep
ITA submitted 30th Sep
APPROVED 1st November So all good so far....
Then the wait for passports??And still we wait...

did you have any communications from your case officer between 30th Sept and when you got your PR on the 1st Nov ? or did you just get an email your PR was approved?

Re: no wonder waiting times for London Immigration
Just to add our story to this, we were pulled from the EOI pool, had medical 5th september 2011, submitted application the following week, approved on the 3rd November (roughly) with passports back and visa enclosed on the 8th November. Our immigration officer was really helpful, always responded to emails in great detail, and was generally really really helpful.
Our officer was the same though, only worked 4 days a week, not in on fridays.

I don't know how long it is supposed to take. Have applied under family residence, wife is from NZ. Supplied all details required inc. medical report, police check etc. Have been married over 30 years and last week recieved e-mail from Immigration asking for further proof of marriage eg photos, holiday details, joint bank statements etc. marriage certificate not proof enough?

Re: no wonder waiting times for London Immigration
We knew the marriage certificate wasn't going to be enough, so submitted holiday invoices, pictures of second honeymoon, photo's of family get together's, joint utility bills, Skype/msn messages.
They still found fault, on the day we submitted the man on the desk went through things and said all was correct and said we didn't need to submit the "additional information" page as there was nothing new on it. Yes you've guessed it case officer wants it. Luckily hubby had left his here so no need to wait for postage from NZ.
They are also not happy with his job offer, the one which allowed him to get a working visa, so he now has to send over his contract which obviously has to be the original which he is not to happy about or pay to get it certified which is again going to hold things up with the postal times.

I would have thought though that as we have been married for 30+ years that it was proof enough that I had not married her just to get into NZ, which is the impression they gave when asking for more info

It's standard practice for everyone to prove their partnerships with an assortment of evidence.

Really? So we have both Mr and Mrs Stormer999 on the one registration then. It helps to know who your talking with. Jan n Neil use just one but it's easy to tell with them. Jan signs her name and you can't mistake Neil.
