Lil help from my friends: Residency Application
Hey folks,
I've started the process of applying for residency and am feeling a little intimidated by the forms for the EOI and how to phrase various answers/ find certain information.
I've just got off the phone with a very nice immigration advisor who told me it'd be $9500 for them to help me. After I picked my jaw up off the floor I logged on here to ask for help.
So situation in brief: I have a permanent job offer in Nursing, outside Auckland and hold a Masters degree. It's just me with no added family and I seem to come out at about 160 points or thereabouts. I am currently on a working holiday visa which expires in July 2014.
I am confused in particular by the bit that asks you for the serial number on your birth certificate and the bit where you have to write why your job is skilled and go point by point. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya
Birth Certificate number is the serial number in the corner if it's a UK one. I found that the copies I had all had different numbers so make sure you use the number of the one you're sending.
Skilled job, I'm a teacher, so I copied and pasted the ANZCO description into the box

I hadn't applied for the long version birth certificate when I submitted my EOI so used the number on the short version. They were ok with them being different numbers when I sent the long one in with my ITA
As for the skilled bit, do as Rossojo says. It's an odd question because the tendency is to think 'because it just is!' I think I waffled on about years spent training at university, it's a specialised profession requiring a degree from an accepted university, registration etc
