You do it all online. It's long winded but so easy.

oopps - must have got my wires crossed, I thought this thread was about how to forward your belongings to NZ!

I have already done the application myself and been offered a visa!

Kia Ora Tony Du.

First, may I just caution that if you wish to use an immigration consultant you should choose one that is listed on the NZAMI website.
Any such website should make it's consultants names quite clear on their website and you should be able to check both the consultants name and the actual company with NZAMI on their register.
It has become law in NZ that such consultants be regulated & licensed. Not to use one of these would, in my opinion, be foolhardy.

Second. Be very wary of any immigration agency which seems to offer you job opportunities. Especially be wary if they are charging you a fee for this as part of their 'services'. The only real way to go with NZ jobs are:-

1 - Use a bona fide recruitment agency which specialises in matching employees to employers . These companies do not charge a fee to the prospective employee. They receive commission from the employer.

2 - Find a job offer yourself.

3 - Approach accredited NZ employers . The official list is on the NZ immigration website.

The website you mentioned was not known to me, so I've had a bit of a ferret around. From taking a browse around I am assuming you have seen an advert or some such thing in Truck Stop News or similar. Just because an advert appears doesn't mean to say they have a proven track record.

There are no personal contact details on the site at all and more importantly I cannot see any reference to NZAMI at all.

Looking further , it would appear that this brand new company, only formed during this year is owned by the same people that ran a now defunct company of a very similar nature called NZ4U. The NZ4U also offered the exact same services , targeting truckers etc. That NZ4U website & 'service' is no more and this seems to have sprung up in its place.

It would be interesting to hear what NZAMI and Investor in People views are on this For ward NZ website and service.

There is nothing wrong with going through an immigration consultant if you feel it will help you. Some people need the help of a professional , quality immigration consultant. They may be fazed by forms (like my dyslexic husband). They may have special circumstances whereby a specialist can work through the problem, or they may just find it all too daunting.

There is also absolutely nothing wrong with using a settlement company either. One of those that offers help and support with rentals , orientation, maybe recruitment contacts, car rentals etc. These offer a very valuable service to those that cannot face going it alone.

Whatever, please do pick carefully . Shop around for prices as they do vary. Avoid the ones offering jobs and only pick from the NZAMI website when it comes to immigration services..

Please do a search here for the many trucking driving threads. You'll find plenty.

You are able to come here and work as a trucker on a temporary work visa. At the moment New Zealand Immigration do not see truck driving as a skilled job so you cannot apply to become a Permanent Resident here in NZ via the points system.

There are an assortment of companies that hire truck drivers & I would imagine that you would be able to pick up a job offer .

Try starting a new thread called truck driving in NZ and some of those that are here and truck driving already may answer it.
Stasia &
AngPaul are both here and truck driving for instance.

Although you will not be able to apply for PR in NZ as a truck driver , there is the possibility of WTR . That is all best left for another thread with the actual truckers posting to it .
