Immigration to NZ questions
Hi
My wife and I are thinking of immigrating to NZ but unsure about how I should go about getting a job.
I am 52yrs old and a degree qualified engineer in the aircraft industry.
What's the best way for me to find a job?
Also, we want to move to a part of NZ which has the best weather. Doesn't necessarily have to be roasting hot all the time, but we definitely don't want clouds and rain.
Does any part of NZ have more sunshine and dry weather than the rest?
How long does the immigration process take from start to finish? Do I need to secure a job first?
Lots of questions hope someone can give answers.

First thing to do is to go nto the NZIS web site and do the points caluclator, this will let you know if you meet the basic criterea, from there its a case of apply for ITA then wait to be selected.
Having a confirmed job offer speeds up the whole process no end, try sites such as www.seek.co.nz to se whats out there.
North island tends to be warmer albeit more tropical the farther north you go and with that it does mean some rain.
I am in south island and although we have had rain its not too bad, much drier than the UK and the winters just over and the coldest we got was +1degrees !!!
Our whole process took 6 months start to finish from applying to arriving here in NZ
Good luck
