Default Immigration Medicals

These are probably what we all dreaded, let's be honest.

However, a guy who started working for me recently had come over from the UK - had a work permit, was staying temporarily with his sister. He applied for PR, but the medical revealed he has a life-threatening illness. He's now had to go back to the UK to get fixed. I doubt he'll be back to NZ because of the nature of his illness, although on the plus side he has every chance of survival because he's in his 20s and fit otherwise.

Not sure what, if any, the moral is, but the INZ medical may yet have saved this guy's life!

Of course, now I have a vacancy......

Once you've been through it and the results are all okay then it feels great, as you've had a bit of an MOT you wouldn't have usually bothered with.

Its terrible prior to it though
