EOI Submitted

Well we finally got around to submitting our EOI after 18 mths on a work visa.
It was a fairly drawn out process but what was frustrating is that there is currently a fault in the points calculator when trying to claim for qualifications - We went straight from 180 to 130 as our UK Hons degrees are seemingly only worth 20 points :frown:

Anyway - Now submitted so :fingerscrossed:

Cheers

Hi, Good luck,
We submitted our EOI and had a similar issue with our qualifications the calculator gave us one value but after selection were told they were not worth as much, we did a re-check and still got the same points on the calculator. still ongoing.

Well the 130 points did something as status now says "selected"
Now the gathering of evidence will begin :)

Fingers crossed then.

For the main applicant an hons degree is worth 50 points as far as I know.
For the partner with the hons degree - that is worth 20 points.

Linky to points tables thread.

Re: EOI Submitted

UK Hons Degree definitely worth 50 points, just sent in my SMV application in and was awarded 50 points for my BSc (HONS). Check it again as the conversion of their 'level' is confusing

Not too fussed about the points at the moment as the 130 was enough - That might change if any of the other points are challenged though

Thanks Sherlock for warm welcome.

Lucky You ianrobbo !!!!!!!!!!! I am still waiting & now in tension too :(

I can see the Date Modified on my application form is 14 Dec and nothing has been changed till now..NO updates till now ...Finger Crossed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this mean something irrelevant they found in my application as I have noticed for some EOI applications they issue ITA withing 7 days? Don't know what will happen.....

I'm afraid its the Christmas period now so things are going to be slower, I personally would wait til the end of the week and give them a call asking for an update.

Re: EOI selected on 12-12-12

Hi,

I am new to this forum but in the same boat like those who are waiting for ITA. My online EOI selected on 12-12-12 but still did not recieved any email or post from NZ Immigration. Lets hope for the BEST because the selection of EOI selected on 12-12-12;)
I have few queries if some one can reply here .

1- My EOI status says "Selected" , so when i will get the ITA?
2- I submitted PAR assessment (Level=7) for my Qualification from NZQA , so can i start the IQA process for my qualification at this stage because yet i did not received any ITA?
3- Can i asked my immediate managers in my old company for work experience certificates because as per company policy the HR do not issue any detail experience certificate except the letter which shows job start date and end date?
4- I worked in three different departments in the same company so is this be sufficient to have one experience letter from my manager instead of three letters because the all three sections where i worked remain under same Engineering organization? More over i m expecting that three letters does not make sense because the company remain same and the line managers will also be not agree for that.
5- Will i get ITA letter by post mail or email? if i want to know about my EOI status to whom i can write?

Thanks

Re: EOI selected on 12-12-12

Welcome Sts.. Good to know there are people waiting for ITA.

1. 'selected' does not mean you will surely get ITA. After selection NZ will verify your claims.
2. Even I am in the same situation as I already submitted my EOI prior to this which got rejected because my qualification was not in the list. I have applied again with PAR results. That is why bit scared/afraid. Even a minor mistake in the form lead you '-ve' results. I will personally wait for ITA becasue investing in IQA as this requires huge amount.
3.In any case, you should have work exp becasue this will help you in future also.
4.Your exp letter should state what work you have done in the company. I suggest, it should be inline with what NZ expect.
5. I don't know. But any time you can call NZ immigration office for update. I suggest , we should wait till Jan 1st week now. We all know this is a holiday time :)

Senior memebers can contribute more into this :)

Thanks

Re: EOI selected on 12-12-12

Hi Nick_10,

Thank you for your reply.
Apperciate if some senior members can brife a bit more about such kind of scenarios.

Actually Nick let me share with you how i claim my 130 points:
1-Age.....25
2-Qualification Bachelor in Electrical but major in Telecommunication --assessed by PAR Level:7.....50
3-Telecom field is the subdomain of ICT
4- I have 14 years of experience in Telecommunication filed with two major Telecom operators
5-My Telecommunication Engineer profession is in ANZCO and My Qualification & experience are in Long Term Shortage Skill List (LTSSL), absolute skill shortage and Canterbury Skill Shortage List. and also it is fall in future growth area .

So as per my assessment @ myself in view of above creteria i allocated Total 130 points for myself on the base of which i have been selected from EOI pool but still no communication from NZ Immigration regarding ITA etc.

Hope for the best.:fingerscrossed:

If they haven't yet, then it is doubtful until after the holidays. NZ is on a two week break really at the moment.
NZIS will have only skeleton staff.

Hi

Received our ITA on Dec 17th by e-mail

MrsFychan Dec 26th 2012 5:26 am

Re: EOI selected on 12-12-12

If I remember correctly when we got our ITA through it also gave you the case officer's details that was allocated to your case. Turned out that our case officer only worked 4 days a week, she didn't work on Fridays. Not sure how many CO's do that but that would slow things up as well as the Christmas break.

Re: EOI selected on 12-12-12

I am a teacher, so looked for the nz website that hosted teaching job adverts. Luckily there is only one major place they are put online. I simply sent out a bundle of CV's... Or application forms and CV's to a list of jobs that were relevant, but anywhere and everywhere. Didn't end up with an offer in the location I would have preferred, but hey, a job offer is a job offer!

They interviewed me via conference telephone call, then emailed me with the result a few days later.

Posted a very large envelope and it was received by Christchurch on Feb 7th - Only been 9 weeks so far with no contact from a CO ,although have had an e-mail confirmation that it was received.

At least we still have another year on our work visa's :):)

Has anyone completed the process from the Dec 12 draw?

Re: EOI selected on 12-12-12

think you need to be looking at dates from when the ITA was received rather thank when the EOI was selected as that part is now over.
Do you not have an account on the Immigration website to monitor progress?
