Default Electrical Workers Registration

Has anyone registered as a Line Mechanic (Linesman) from the Uk ?
What did you send as evidence ? it does say to send letter from current employer, I have not told them I am intending to leave yet, is it time to confront them ?

Default Re: Electrical Workers Registration

Hi
Firstly, congratulations on job offer. I have just come over (5 weeks ago) to NZ as a Faultsperson/Linesman with my family.
I think it may be the time to confront your employer. The EWRB do require a full work history from your employer on headed paper listing all you skills and qualifications. If you have been a Linesman for a while in the UK you shouldn't have any problems getting a ticket here.
You will only get a provisional licience to start with but that is enough to get your PR visa. Once here, your company will probably put you on a 2 week course to get your full registration. (a bit like a trade test in the UK).
If you want to PM me your email address I will be only too happy to answer any question you or your family may have. My OH will gladly chat to yours if she wants to.
Where are you going to be working/living?

Hope this helps.
