I have started my process for NZ, applying through SMC. About to send documents for IQA,. Meanwhile doing some research for jobs and good place to live.
I would like to know which are the good places to search for a job in IT? I have total 6 years of experience, nearly 4 years as a SQL Database Administrator and 2 years as a SQL Developer.

I have registered my CV on few consultancy company, i know that it's difficult to find the job from remote.

Also i eager to know which are the good place to live in NZ.I can open to relocate anywhere in NZ. I may prefer the places which are not much expensive, tranquil,good for my 3 years old son (good kinder garden), may be little distance from city center would be fine. I can commute 30 minutes by bus would be great.

Any input from senior members would be great.

Probably the best places for IT jobs is going to be Auckland then Wellington.
In my opinion both cities are great. I'm in Wellington and we do like it here, but our dreams of living in NZ appear to fit more living further North so we are hoping to move up to the Bay Of Plenty within the next 12-18 months.
If I had the option of living in Wellington or Auckland, I personally would pick Auckland and live North of the city or around the South East of the city around the bays.
After a visit up there recently we just love it a lot more than here.

Thanks escapedtonz for the response.That will help a lot. Then i may be look for settle in Auckland rather than Welly. Any idea about North suburb of Auckland? Are they reasonable in rent?

Sorry not sure but I'd guess very expensive just like everything else to do with housing in Auckland. The further out you go the cheaper housing becomes. If your willing to commute an hour then you will find reasonable rent.
