Default work permit gone wrong!................

Hi All...

I have been a visitor to the forum for the past year so and have found it very informative. We submitted our application in March 2003 receiving our AOR soon afterwards. My husband(he is a Chef) was then successful in getting HRDC validation and a work permit to go to Vancouver. We went there in October 2003 and was really looking forward to our new life. My husband met with his new employer and all went well. We settled in Coquitlam. We got an apartment and my son started school. Then our troubles began My husband started work and had an horrendous experience with the Head Chef. He was employed as a Sous Chef but was treated as no more that a highly paid kitchen porter when he spoke to the employer about it he was told not to bother to come back there was no understanding or reasoning they were not sympathetic to his or our situation. My husband did not want to leave he just wanted to be treated with respect for his profession He has been a Top class chef for the past 15 years working in some of the most prestigious kitchens in London. So there we were stuck in Canada using all of our savings to live My husband tried to find another job but the employers were not interested as he was only permited to work with that employer. we spent 3 months there trying to hold on but deceided to return to England we are here now and have resumed our life. We are still awaiting to hear from CIC London regarding our application. But we are not sure that if we are successful if we would return. The whole situation left a horrible taste in our mouths. Don't get me wrong we loved BC and my son adored his school. But after all the effort and money spent has deterred us from wanting to go through all that again!

Anyone out there had similar experiences? If so any advice would be helpful.
