Work Permit extention but no VISA extension

Work Permit extention but no VISA extension
Recently I got my work permit extended (at Vigreville ) but my VISA
extension was not issued. Either it was not requested by the my legal
counsel or was a mistake by immigration officer at Vigreville. Now I am in
the process of getting it done. But my legal counsel is suggesting that the
passport needs to be sent to Canadian consulate in US to get a VISA
extension
My knowledge was that it can be done at Vigreville. Am I right ?
Please make me aware of the process

Your work permit extension is all you need as long as you are not leaving
Canada. If you want to travel then you need new entry visa, not the
extension as such cannot be extended at all. You may have the extension of
stay (already taken care by work permit extension) but not the extension of
the visa sticker validity in your passport.

My question is , Can I get my VISA stamped with in Canada as I may have to

Visas can only be issued outside of Canada. There is no sstamp to extend
their validity, in Canada or abroad. If you want to travel then you will
have to apply at a mission overseas to obtain a new visa. That is not
normally a problem since you have an extended work authorization.

No, you cannot. You must apply for new visitor visa through visa post
abroad.

You can simply fill the visitor visa app, get a certified check for $150 and courier your passport to the canadian consulate in buffalo. They will put a new visa in your passport and send it back. also send a photo copy of your extended permit. This is exactly what I did when I got my work permit extended.
