Work permit extension application (applying from within Canada)
Hi
Has anyone recently applied for an extension to their work permit from inside Canada and if so, how long did it take to process?
Thanks

Thanks, I have seen this but wondered if anyone had recent experience. It makes no sense that new applications are taking less time to process than already approved work permits. So frustrating!!

Hi
Not "recently" as it was the start of May. We needed to reapply for our work permits as it was limited to my husband's passport renewal (again no changes in employer).
We applied on 3rd May, six weeks before the work permit was due to expire. We were told the processing time was 89 days so we would be on implied status until a decision was made. It didn't take all the time as we got it around the start of July. Still frustrating waiting again as we only got it last June!
