Default work permit application

Hi all
I am brand new to this forum. We are hoping to leave for Alberta end of March. I have my LMO and will be sending in my TWP application imminently. Just waiting for the police clearance certificates to arrive. From what I have been reading on here it seems that I can apply for an open work permit for my husband at the same time. What i cant work out is what form to fill in for him. Is it just another work permit form? I am being very brave and doing this without the help of a lawyer. Do you think we have enough time? Will definately need medicals too. Getting very nervous now! Any advice /help would be welcome

Hi ant 11
We filled out two of the IMM1295 one for each of us, one was noted as Prinicpal Applicant and the other 'Spousal Open Work permit'.
As I work in Health Care I required a medical but my hubby did not.
Hopefully this will help.

Hello
My OH is applying for TWP with me and kids tagging along. We applied on the 18th Sept 09, Had request for medical (OH in Healthcare) on the 2nd Nov, he had medical done last Thursday so fingers crossed will have TWP by end of the year. We are heading to Vancouver Island.

Hope this helps. You can pply for an open spousal work permit at same time and study permits for kids.
Kate

So hopefully things should move in time for me to start work in 4 months. That is if I get to do these forms correctly. Did you guys do it yourself or use a lawyer / immigration consultant? From what you guys are saying it sounds like only the person working in healthcare has to get a medical?
Thanks
Ant

Hi ant 11
Our timeline was a delayed by 3 months as I had to have repeat xrays. See our previous posts.

We did not use any third party for our application. I am also in healthcare and hence the reason for the medical.

Good luck and keep us posted and keep in touch.
Mandy

hi ya
we completed the forms ourselves, they are not too bad. Few problems with kids study permits but that was all.

Im just stunned it takes so long for a temporary visa!! we thought we would have it all by now. But at least we shall be here for Christmas.
Good luck x
