Hi Wizzard,
Many thanks for your speedy reply again.
Today I rang a Canadian Lawyer called "Abrams & Krochak". I asked him all
the questions that I'd asked you concerning my husbands qualifications and
police training.
He has advised me that we could go for an "apprenticeship" type
qualification for the police training, he says as long as Canadian
Immigration can see that he has completed his full training they should earn
us those vital 3 points!
The only thing that I'm slightly concerned about is because you obviously
have to pay quite alot of money for a lawyer to represent you, they are
going to say you have a good chance, aren't they?
I think this company offer a money back guarantee, and the guy I spoke to
certainly seemed to know his stuff.
Do you know anything about this company and if they are a reputable one?
We have decided we will go for it with a lawyer as I do believe they can
help you set out the info in a well prepared way,and seem to know the
immigration system inside out!
I would be interested to know your views on this subject if you have the
time to reply.
Lots of thanks again,
Ali

Re: To Wizzard
The name rings a bell but i don't recall anyone ever complaining about them.
Just check their credentials, if they are lawyers are they memebers of the
bar (or whatever) or if they are consultants are they in OPIC cos then you
can be reassured of their expertise at least.
You don't have to go with the first people you call so feel free to check
out some of the other people recommended on this group and see who gives you
the best price and you feel most comfertable with and if they make too many
promises be careful and check like you say they have a money back guarantee
so you kno they arent just saying it to get yoru business.

Note that you can search for attorneys on the Canada Federal
Court's website and read the decisions of the judges in cases
where those attorneys made appearances.
That firm's track record seems decent.

Re: To Wizzard
Thanks guys
Based on your comments this is what I found:
"Jeffrey Abrams, and Peter Krochak are Barristers and Solicitors and members
of the Canadian Bar Association. They are licensed by the Law Society of
Upper Canada, practicing exclusively in the field of Canadian Immigration
Law.
Abrams & Krochak offers various inland and overseas Canadian Immigration
legal services to its clients both in Canada and abroad."
Thanks for your help, they sound fine to me!
