Withdraw skilled independent application?

My application has been in for some months now and I have been allocated a file
number. Unfortunately, circumstances have changed in the interim and even were I
lucky enough to be granted permanent residency I would not be able to take it up
until earliest 2005. I do still want to take up residency in Canada but can only
do so later.
Is it better to withdraw the application now? When is the latest that I should
withdraw the application? Or should I just leave it as is and see what happens?
Regards Brian

I would withdraw your application now. There is no reason to delay and it will make
no difference on a future application. The selection criteria will be changing soon
and that would be your greatest risk. Jim Humphries, former visa officer

Hi !!!
If he wants to delay his application for four years or more, he may also consider
transfering his application to Bogota, Colombia.
The only problem is that it could take even more just for having his interview.
