Question Will unemployment affect my application?

Hello!

My husband & I, applied for canadian immigration early 03/2002, recd
the AOR early 06/ 2002. Just recd. medical papers yesterday. Interview was waived!

BUT...

They have asked for additional documents, which includes letters from my previous and current employers. I am the main applicant. But I am now unemployed. I was on H1B and so is my husband. My husband currently has a job, so will it matter if I inform them I have become unemployed? Will it effect my application?
