Re: What is the most/hottest job vacancy in CA?
depends wher eyoua re headed, but all over Canada the building sector is
really good, tonnes of house building going on so anything from lowest rung
of a labourer up to designers and architects and site managers etc etc will
be doing well, i know a couple of people from the UK in the building trade
heading to Canada to make a fortune.
Oil and Gas of course are always big business in alberta etc and finance in
Toronto.
Really the main depression is in the IT which is unfortunately what everyone
thought would be the hot sector when we all started degrees in the 90's etc.
hehe.oops. should have taken structural engineering or something i guess.

Re: What is the most/hottest job vacancy in CA?
From what I hear, building and related trades - drywallers, electricians,
plumbers, the whole bit is a hot sector. Oil/gas and mining is not too
shabby either. Perhaps others with specific knowledge can comment in more
detail since this is an oft-asked question on this newsgroup.
In IT, ERP's are always in demand (specifically Peoplesoft, Siebel, SAP).
Specific experience with content management (Vignette, etc) or with EAI
tools (TIBCO, Vitria, WebMethods and SeeBeyond) are hot. If you are a
"generic" Java or MS developer without any specific product experience, you
will face challenges in obtaining employment. If you are on the
infrastructure side (hardware, networks, helpdesk) etc, you will face a soft
market but it is not as bleak as the demand for just "programmers".
Hope this helps.
