Default what is meant by "selection decision"

First of all Hi to all of you and would like to thank everyone who is
helping and assisting everyone on this group.

Now to the point.

-I sent application on 11/9/2001 through London
-received file number on 24/10/2001
-received pink card advising to wait for an interview on 27/12/2001

until now i did not hear anything.

Now, are they going to evaluate me under the new laws or the old one?
What they mean by Selection Decision.

Thank you
Have a good day.

Selection decision is being made when processing officer determines that
applicant met selection criteria in the class applied. In order to receive
positive final decision (final approval) and have visa granted one must get
positive decisions in all of the following sections - selection, medical,
criminal and security.

If selection interview is required then selection decision can only be made
after such interview is concluded.

In your case if selection decision is not made by the end of March 2003 then
you will be assessed under new law and against new selection criteria,
although with transitional pass mark of 70 points as application was
received prior to December 31, 2001.

Default Selection decision - after the interview or when you receive the result

Mr. Miller,

I've read your response about the selection decision but I'm still not sure about my situation. I applied in August 2001 and attended an interview in November, 2002. I suppose my selection decision should be made up to 3 months after the interview but I'm still waiting for a response with the results. If I don't receive a letter from the embassy till 31 March, does it mean that I'll be evaluated according to the new criteria?

Thank you in advance.

"Selection decision" is the determination made by processing officer that
applicant met or didn't meet selection criteria. It is not a final decision
yet, it is only one of the decisions made in the process. Final decision is
made when all tasks are completed - selection determination as well as
medical, criminal and security checks.

You will not get any update from visa post until final decision is made -
except maybe request for additional information or tests. Your selection
decision was made during or shortly after the interview and it was made
under the old law. Nothing will change it now, unless something bad pops-up
during verification of your credentials or background check what will
contradict information on which selection decision was based.

Mr. Miller, an interesting question is, 3/31/2003 new rule/old rule criteria
deadline is based on on "seclection decision" or "final decision"? Thanks.
